What makes us different
The hardest part of a remodel is not knowing what happens next. Here is the whole sequence, before you commit to anything.
From first call to final invoice
Every project runs this way, whether it is one bathroom or the whole house.
- 01
Discovery
We start by talking through the space, how you actually use it, and what you are trying to get to. That is also where the awkward questions get asked early — budget range, timing, and whether what you want is realistic in the house you have.
- 02
Design & Selections
Layout, cabinetry, fixtures and finishes get settled before demolition starts. Deciding on tile halfway through is what stalls a project and what turns a fixed number into a moving one.
- 03
Scope & Budget
You get a written scope and a real number, with the line items broken out so you can see exactly what you are paying for and where you could spend more or less. No charge, and no obligation.
- 04
Agreement & Schedule
Once the scope is agreed, the contract sets out the allowances, the payment schedule and how changes get handled. Trades are booked, so you have dates before anyone swings a hammer.
- 05
Build
Work areas are contained, the site is cleaned at the end of each day, and you know who is going to be in your house and when. Anything found behind a wall reaches you the day it is found, with the cost and the options.
- 06
Completion & Close-out
We go through the finished work together and clear the punch list.
Pricing
The estimate is free
You get a written scope and number in your hands, with the line items broken out. No charge, no obligation, no pressure to sign anything on the spot.
Allowances are stated up front
Tile, fixtures, and countertops get an allowance in the contract, so you can see exactly what is budgeted and choose to spend more or less with your eyes open.
Change orders are in writing
Nothing gets added to your invoice that you did not approve in writing first. If something turns up behind a wall, you hear about it the day we find it.
What you can count on
Everything goes in writing — the scope, the allowances, the schedule, and every change order. If something turns up behind a wall, you get the cost and the options before any further work happens, not a surprise on the final invoice.
The license and the insurance are current, and you are welcome to verify either one before you sign anything — a contractor who minds you checking is telling you something.
You still live in the house while the work happens, so the work areas stay contained, the dust protection goes up, and the site gets swept at the end of every day.
The electricians, plumbers and tile setters on your job are people Carl has worked with for years, not whoever was free that week. That is most of why a schedule holds.
The person who quotes your job is the person who manages it. There is no handoff to a crew you have never met, and no call centre between you and an answer.
What homeowners ask us first
How much does a remodel cost?
It depends on scope, size, and the materials you choose, so any number given before seeing the space is a guess. Once we have talked through what you actually want, you get a written estimate with the line items broken out — no charge, and no obligation.
How long will my project take?
A bathroom typically runs a few weeks; a full kitchen or an addition runs longer. You get a schedule before work starts, and you are told as soon as anything changes it.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Licensing and insurance details are provided in writing with your estimate, and you are welcome to verify the license with the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors before you sign anything.
Do you help with design and material selection?
Yes. For cabinetry and kitchen design in particular, we work alongside trusted local partners so your selections are handled by people who do it every day, and everything is coordinated back into one schedule.
Can I stay in my home during the remodel?
In most cases, yes. Work areas are contained and cleaned at the end of each day. For a whole-home renovation or anything that takes the kitchen out of service for an extended period, we talk through the tradeoffs before work begins.
What areas do you serve?
Cary, Raleigh, Apex, Morrisville, Holly Springs, Wake Forest, Garner, Fuquay-Varina, Knightdale, Wendell, Zebulon and Clayton. If you are just outside that, call and ask.
How do I get started?
Call or send the estimate request form on this site. We talk through what you have in mind, and follow up with a written estimate.
